Christian Holidays
On pg. 229, Rowling writes, ‘They piled so much homework on them that the Easter holidays weren’t nearly as much fun as the Christmas ones.”
- The only two school holidays we have seen so far are for Christmas and Easter. Why do you think we see portrayals of traditionally Christian holidays?
- How does this exclude readers of other faiths/belief systems?
- We know that there is at least one Jewish student at Hogwarts. How do you think this “othering” of him must make him feel?
